Gamontevis Leonard charged with murder of woman at Tucker motel

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit, with the Gwinnett County Police Department, has arrested a suspect in the murder of a woman last month in a Tucker, Georgia motel.

Sheriff’s investigators today(June 2) located and arrested Gamontevis Leonard, 34, of Atlanta for the Malice Murder of Shamere Moore, 35.

According to the arrest warrant, the incident occurred on May 22 at the Studio 6 motel, 1795 Crescent Centre Boulevard, Tucker. Moore was stabbed in the chest and shot in the head, causing her death, authorities said.

Leonard was taken into custody without incident in Gwinnett County near I-85 and Jimmy Carter Boulevard, where he was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
